The 2009 Dinghy Group prize night was held last friday night and hosted this year by the Derwent Sailing Squadron. The number of individuals collecting prizes highlights the additional depth we now have in the classes as well as divisions within classes.
Proud parents watched as Murray Jones, our most excellent MC, read out the name of the prize, the criteria for awarding the prize and then the name of the worthy recipient. In the background a slideshow that was almost entirely put together by Stefan Stimson provided additional colour to the night.
It was great to have a number of parents and committee members from the Sandy Bay Sailing Club attend the event and I am sure this will become a standard tradition of sharing in the festivities at the end of each season.
Tasty snacks at the end of the night (thanks to Lisa Coles) provided some much needed food to the hungry masses and the bar facilities of the club were then well patronised.
